Raiders Countdown to Kickoff: 93: Who wore it best, who's wearing it now

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

We are now a week into our countdown since we started at 99. That means the Raiders 2015 season is a week closer. As has been the case a few times in the 90s, the best 93 is a pass rusher. This pass rusher can be seen regularly at Raiders fan events throughout California

Who wore it best: DE Greg Townsend

Originally a 4th round pick by the Raiders in the 1983 draft and had an immediate impact. He had 10.5 sacks as a rookie and helped the Raiders to win Super Bowl XVIII. He played 13 seasons in the NFL, all but one of which for the Raiders. He continued to be a sack machine throughout his career, amassing a franchise record 107.5 sacks. For the first nine years of his career he averaged over 10 sacks a season, reaching the Pro Bowl in 90 and 91.

Who's wearing it now: DT  Ricky Lumpkin

The big defensive tackle joined the Raiders early in the 2013 season after two seasons with the Cardinals. He has jumped back and forth with the practice squad, appearing in five games last season as depth at the defensive tackle position. In that time he totaled 9 tackles (6 solo) and 1.0 sack. He will fight for a spot at defensive tackle behind Dan Williams and Justin Ellis.
