The Raiders have placed linebacker Sio Moore on the Physically Unable to Perform list with a hip injury. Moore suffered a hip injury late last season and had offseason surgery to repair it.
The third year linebacker had practiced on a limited basis in minicamp last month and it the hope was he would be ready to go to begin training camp. There's no way of knowing exactly how long he will be on the PUP list, but based on his progress in the offseason, I wouldn't suspect it would be too long.
Ray Ray Armstrong has primarily filled in at weak side linebacker in Moore's absence. The coaching staff has raved about the work Armstrong has been putting in at the position.
Also capable of filling in at the spot is Malcolm Smith who the team signed as a free agent from the Seahawks this offseason.
The Raiders veterans report to training camp this Thursday, July 30 with their first full team practice occurring July 31.
