Training camp report day is just a couple days away now. And 47 days from the Raiders season opener. Another day, another number. Today, number 47 and a classic Raiders reclamation project.

Who wore it best: RB Tyrone Wheatley

This former first round pick was given up for dead by the New York Giants. The Raiders dusted him off and made him their ground and pound back in Jon Gruden's offense. The Raiders had a resurgence of their own during Wheatley's time in Oakland. He ran for over 1000 yards in 2000 to help the Raiders reach the AFC Championship game. He was the smash to Charlie Garner's dash in the Raiders' Super Bowl season in 2002.

Over six seasons with the team, he sits eighth in team history with 3682 rushing yards and fourth in rushing touchdowns with 34. He also added 140 yards and one touchdowns in 7 playoff game appearances.

Who's wearing it now: LB  Josh Shirley

Signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2015 draft out of UNLV. The Fontana California native will battle for a roster spot in a deep linebacking corps. With what looks like the top two spots at each linebacker position set, he will look to stand out on special teams as his ticket to making the roster.
