All Raiders players are now present and accounted for in training camp. Now's when the work really begins as the entire 90-man offseason roster takes the field for their first full training camp practice today at 10:20am -- the first of 16 practices over the next 26 days in Napa.
From here, the team will have 11 practices in the next 15 days to prepare for their first preseason game at home against the Rams on August 14.
As the rules state, the pads don't go on until the third day which would be Sunday. Although in speaking with a couple of the rookies this week, they seem to think the pads will go on today. We'll see soon which it is.
As they were in OTA's and minicamp, the players talked about the 'energy' the coaches bring. Namely new defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. Even without practices physically ramped up yet, we can expect to see the intensity to high just as it was in minicamp in June.
Training camp is here. That means the season is near.
