Training camp is done and, after a walk-thru on Tuesday, the Raiders are participating in their first practice at their Alameda facility as they prepare for their third preseason game. Returning to the field today are linebacker Sio Moore and running back Roy Helu Jr, according to several members of the media present at practice. Still not practicing is rookie third round pick tight end Clive Walford.
Moore and Helu return after having missed a large portion of training camp with undisclosed injuries.
Moore had been on the PUP list for the first day of training camp after missing most of the offseason recovering from hip surgery. He returned for the second practice. He lasted about a week before leaving with an injury and not returning to camp. Malcolm Smith has taken the bulk of his reps while he has been out and Sio had been working primarily with the second unit.
Walford was missing for the first nine days of camp. He returned for two practices and played in the team's first preseason game where he was injured again and has yet to return. He had been working as the first team tight end during offseason practices and Mychal Rivera has stepped back into the starting tight end spot in his absence.
