Without looking, can anyone really name a great Raider who wore the number 38? How bout a good player? Yeah, me neither. But, alas, the countdown goes on and therefore with 38 days until the Raiders season opener, we profile the best to wear the number 38 along with who wears it now.
Who wore it best: RB Nick Bell
For probably the first time in this year's countdown, we are faced with a situation where there simply weren't any good players who wore that number. Bell was a disappointing second round pick. He played three seasons for the Raiders, rushing for just 853 yards and 7 touchdowns. That was his entire NFL career.
Who's wearing it now: CB TJ Carrie
A seventh round pick in the 2014 draft, he took everyone by surprise by being one of the best corners on the team as a rookie. While DJ Hayden and Keith McGill battle for one starting spot, Carrie's job looks fairly secure. He already has the makings of a steal as a seventh round pick and If he can have another season anything like his rookie season or better, he could very easily take over as the best to wear the number 38 in Raiders history. Obviously it's up for grabs.
