Raiders Training Camp: Trent Richardson comes off NFI list, practices for first time

New, comments

Levi Damien is at Raiders camp and brings us breaking news on one of Oakland's free-agent signings.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Today Levi Damien is reporting that Raiders RB Trent Richardson has been removed from the NFI list and he is practicing with the team at training camp for the first time this season. As explained in his prior article on the subject, the coaching staff wanted Richardson to get down to a target weight before he began taking reps in camp and the fact that Richardson is doing so indicates that he has reached that target number.

Richardson today is taking second-team reps, as Roy Helu and Michael Dyer are both not practicing. There is no official word as of yet on why that is, but their absence will allow Richardson to show off for the coaches and possibly solidify a spot on the final Raiders roster.

In other Raiders news, WR Rod Streater is still on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list. As always, Silver and Black Pride will update you with all the latest news and notes from Raiders Training Camp.
