Raiders Countdown to Kickoff: 11: Who wore it best, who's wearing it now

Just 11 days until the Raiders open the regular season. Can you believe it? Tomorrow they play their final preseason game in Seattle and a few days after that we will have the 'final' roster cuts. We've come a long way, baby. So, who was the best to don the snake eyes. Well, he's still wearing it.

Who wore it best IS wearing it now: K  Sebastian Janikowski

The longest tenured Raider and all-time leading scorer. The Raiders shocked the world when they selected the Polish Cannon out of Florida State in the first round (17 overall) of the 2000 draft. Whether it was a great decision to take a kicker in the first round is debatable, but there were only two other Pro Bowlers selected in the first round after him, and he was one of just 9 Pro Bowlers selected from that spot until the end of the fourth round. That draft also had just one other Pro Bowl kicker in it (Neil Rackers).

In 'Seabass's' 15-year NFL career, he has made 364 of 454 field goal attempts (80%) and 482 of 485 extra point attempts for a total of 1,574 points. Among those field goals was a 63-yarder in 2011 which tied for the longest in NFL history. He is tied for second in NFL history in most field goals over 50 yards (42) with John Kasay. Kasay retired in 2011 which means one more field goal from 50+ and Janikowski will take sole possession of second all-time and would move within nine of the all-tine mark held by Jason Hanson (52). By the way, it took Hanson 20 years to set that record and he retired in 2012. Janikowski is also tied for the most field goals of 50 yards or more in a single game (3).
