You may or may not be aware of just how many losing streaks the Raiders could end Sunday and just how lengthy some of those streaks are. So, let's take a look at a few of them
Eastern Time Zone
It has been nearly six years since the Raiders have won in the Eastern Time Zone. SIX YEARS. To be exact, the streak is currently at 16 games. That losing streak is part of the reason Bruce Gradkowski continues to be a folk hero of sorts, because he was at quarterback on that day back in December of 2009 when the Raiders beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Last was the last time they played the dreaded 10am Pacific Time game and won.
Away from Oakland
Last season the Raiders didn't win a single game away from their friendly confines at O.co. With the ‘home' game in London included, that's 9 games. They had lost six-straight to end the 2013 season, including three road games. Their last win on the road came on November 17, 2013 in Houston - a streak of 12-straight away from Oakland. They have also won just two road games the past three seasons.
This one will probably shock you a bit - the Raiders haven't won in Cleveland in 30 years. THIRTY. YEARS. Their last win in Cleveland was 1985 when they were the LA Raiders. They pulled out a 21-20 victory that day. To be fair, the Raiders have played just three games in Cleveland since then, losing all three.
Back to back wins
In the three seasons and two games since the new regime came on board, the Raiders have won two in a row just once. That was three years ago when they put together back-to-back wins in mid-October with an overtime victory over the Jaguars, followed by one of two wins over the Chiefs (who would win two games all season). Those two wins were half the Raiders' win total that season. Since then the Raiders have gone 9-34 with all of those wins followed by a loss.
If the Raiders won Sunday, they would be 2-1 on the season. The last time that happened was 2011 when they went 7-4 before losing four of their final five games to finish 8-8. That was also one of just two seasons since the 2002 Super Bowl season that the Raiders started the season 2-1. The other was 2004 and they would win just three more games the rest of the season.
Hard to believe this out of division game in Cleveland would accomplish so much.
