As the Raiders continue to make roster cuts to get down to 53 players, we can confirm the release of defensive tackle, Ricky Lumpkin. Notice of his release comes just hours before the roster cut deadline.
Raiders 53-man roster projection 2.0
With two more preseason games since my previous 53-man roster projection, and on the eve of the final roster cutdown deadline, I make my final Raiders roster prediction.
Lumpkin joined the Raiders last season, after playing the first two seasons of his career in Arizona. He appeared in five games last season, which was a career high for him after having appeared in just two games prior to that.
The big defensive tackle was showing a lot of promise in preseason and looked like he had a very good shot at making the final 53.
Following his release, Lumpkin had this to say on Twitter:
It's been fun but sometimes things don't go as planned or how you think but its all in Gods hands.— Ricky Lumpkin (@RLump95) September 5, 2015
