Another standout preseason performer for the Raiders got his walking papers today Silver & Black Pride can confirm. The 2014 seventh round pick had stepped up this preseason and was making a strong case to crack the final 53-man roster after spending most last season on the practice.
Must Reads
Like Leon Orr and Ricky Lumpkin, Harris was a victim of a deep group of defensive linemen. Harris was competing primarily with 2014 undrafted free agent, Denico Autry for a backup spot at the defensive end spot. Autry had a fantastic preseason, making Harris' chances a bit slimmer unless the team opted to carry extra defensive linemen this season.
Harris is eligible for the practice squad and could very well land there should he clear waivers.
Following his release, Harris took to Twitter to thank the Raider Nation for their support, saying "It's been real" and that this is not the end. And if he makes the practice squad, it definitely won't be the end for him with the Raiders.
It's been real raider nation yall deserve the best! #nottheend #cantstopwontstop
