Panters vs Seahawks NFL Playoffs, NFC Divisional Round open thread

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are heading to Carolina to take on the NFC's number 1 seed today. The Carolina Panthers, led by MVP candidate Cam Newton, are in for a battle because the Seahawks are no joke and know they are onto their 2nd life after a missed chip shot field goal kept their season alive.

The Panthers were the longest lasting undefeated team this year before losing a couple of games down the road, but they were still good enough to keep hold of the top seed and bye in the NFC this year. Their first game in the playoffs this year will be against the NFC champion the last two years in a row so Cam will need to be every bit in MVP form for them to get by the Seahawks today.

Russell Wilson and the Seahawks on the other hand have been one of the absolute hottest teams down the stretch, including a dismantling of the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17 when the Cardinals could still steal the top seed with a victory. They should have lost in Minnesota but got another life when that kick sailed left of the uprights in last week's wild card game. It will be interesting to see if that lucky win will catapult them back into another Super Bowl run.
