After adding four players on Monday, the Raiders were back at it Tuesday, signing two more players to reserve/future contracts. They brought back kicker Giorgio Tavacchio and signed quarterback Garrett Gilbert.
Tavecchio signed with the Raiders last offseason and spent training camp and preseason with the team. The Cal product played in 46 games for the Golden Bears converting on 48-of-64 (75 percent) field goal attempts and 112-of-120 (93.3 percent) PATs. He spent time in training camp with the San Francisco 49ers (2012), Green Bay Packers (2013) and Lions (2014).
Gilbert was a sixth round pick by the Rams in the 2014 draft out of SMU. He also spent time on the practice squad for the Rams and Patriots and was claimed off waivers by the Lions last season. Gilbert transferred to SMU from Texas following the 2011 season. He would pass for 3,528 yards and 21 touchdowns in his 2013 senior season there.
