It's clear the Raiders are still trying to figure out their best options on defense. Thus far, not much has worked as planned, giving the team few options that noticeably stand out above the others.
The top option, of course, is Khalil Mack, who has underachieved this season after posting 15.0 sacks last season. He led all defenders among the front seven with 56 snaps (88%). Bruce Irvin (84%) and Cory James (83%) were just behind him. It goes down quickly from there, with a total of 11 defensive linemen and linebackers playing at least a third of the defensive snaps.
This rotation isn't a sign of great depth. It may keep guys more fresh, but mostly it shows the Raiders don't have many players in that group who are playing well enough to keep on the field consistently. It shows in games like this one where the Chiefs had their way with the Raiders defense both on the ground and through the air.
