Derek Carr up for two weekly awards: Vote here

New, comments

After Derek Carr’s monster day in Tampa, not surprisingly he is up for a couple of weekly awards which you can vote for.

The first award is the FedEx Air Player of the week. He earns that by having completed 40 of 59 passes (67.8 percent) for 513 yards and 4 touchdowns for a 117.4 passer rating in a 30-24 overtime win over the Buccaneers.

His competitors for the awards are Carson Palmer and Tom Brady.

Palmer completed 35 of 46 passes (76.1 percent) for 363 yards and 3 touchdowns for a 111.0 passer rating in a loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Brady completed 22 of 33 passes (66.7 percent) for 315 yards and 4 touchdowns for a 137.0 passer rating in a 41-25 win over the Buffalo Bills.

The other award Carr is up for is the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week. It was thanks to the team’s NFL record 23 penalties that even with the crazy numbers Carr put up, it still took heroics in overtime on his part to pull out the win.

Once again he’s up against Tom Brady in this category along with Falcons receiver Mohamed Sanu, Saints quarterback Drew Brees, and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Sanu caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan with 31 seconds remaining, rallying the Atlanta Falcons to a 33-32 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Brees passed for 265 yards and a touchdown and scored on a quarterback keeper to help the New Orleans Saints beat the Seattle Seahawks 25-20.

Prescott threw the game-winning touchdown pass to Jason Witten in overtime to help the Dallas Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles 29-23.
