Big losses for Panthers as All Pros Luke Kuechly, Ryan Kalil ruled OUT vs Raiders

New, comments

The Panthers will be short two very important pieces when they face the Raiders in Oakland Sunday. The team has ruled All Pro middle linebacker Luke Kuechly and All Pro center Ryan Kalil OUT for the game.

Kuechly — an All Pro at middle linebacker the past three seasons — suffered a serious concussion in the team’s game last Thursday against the Saints. He was in the concussion protocol and with the injury reports due today, he was ruled out.

Kalil — an All Pro for the second time last season and five time Pro Bowl center — suffered a shoulder injury in the same game. His backup, Gino Gradkowski, also missed last week’s game with a knee injury, but he returned to practice full this week and is expected to play.

The Panthers also ruled defensive end Mario Addison OUT and sent left tackle Michael Oher to injured reserve.
