Once again a Raiders player was nominated for a weekly award and once again they are taking home some ‘hardware’. This week it’s Amari Cooper who took home the Castrol Edge Clutch Player of the Week award for his late game winning touchdown for the Raiders against the Texans in Mexico City.
Coop took a short pass from Derek Carr, turned up field, faked out two defenders, cut back, and sprinted through three other defenders to take it 35 yards to the house.
Here is the play with Greg Papa making the call, as put together by our own Goro Burroughs:
The touchdown broke a 20-20 tie and completed a 27-20 comeback win for the Raiders.
A shout out to Seth Roberts for a fine block on the sideline to help free up Cooper to go to work.
This is the fourth time this season a Raiders player has won the Castrol Edge Clutch Player of the Week award — Derek Carr won the first three — that’s the most in the NFL this season.
