Derek Carr exits Raiders game vs Panthers with injured right hand

New, comments

On just the second play of the third quarter, the Raiders may have suffered a terrible loss. Derek Carr took a snap from Rodney Hudson and appeared to have injured his pinky finger on his right hand (throwing hand).

The ball was a fumble and the Panthers recovered. Carr immediately gripped his right hand and ran off the field. After quickly examining his hand on the sideline, the Raiders’ trainers took Carr to the locker room.

Matt McGloin began warming up on the sideline with the intent of entering the game when next the Raiders offense gets the ball.

The Raiders lead was 24-7 at the time, though the Panthers drove for a touchdow off the fumble recovery to pull to 24-13 after a blocked extra point.

Update: Carr came out of the locker room wearing a glove on his throwing hand. He is warming up and appears to be coming back in the game. We’ll see.

More on this as it develops.
