Aldon Smith on potential reinstatement: “I’ll be back in two weeks”

New, comments

Thursday night Raiders suspended linebacker Aldon Smith was spotted at the Warriors game in Oakland. A reporter asked him about his potential return from his one-year NFL suspension and he sounds pretty optimistic.

That one year suspension is up on November 17 — exactly two weeks away — at which point Commissioner Roger Goodell must make the decision to reinstate Smith in order for the suspension to be lifted. Should Goodell do so, Smith would be available to play in the team’s Monday Night game in Mexico City against the Texans on November 21.

Smith should be careful, however, making such statements. If Goodell doesn’t think Smith has groveled enough, he may just decide he doesn’t think Aldon is rehabilitated and deny his parole...er...reinstatement.
