He’s back! Mario Edwards has finally officially been activated from injured reserve, making him available for the team’s final two games, including Saturday against the Colts on Christmas Eve.
In a corresponding move, the Raiders sent rookie third round pick Shilique Calhoun to injured reserve after a recent procedure on his injured knee.
Edwards suffered a hip injury in preseason and had been placed on injured reserve prior to the start of the season, making him eligible to return after week eight. He returned to practice earlier this month with the team designating him for return. They had until Monday the 26th to make his return official or shut him down for the season.
All week Jack Del Rio as well as GM Reggie McKenzie expressed optimism that Edwards would be able to return for this week’s game after he had a good looking week of practices.
He will make his season debut in Oakland as the Raiders look to remain atop the AFC West and try for a first round bye in the playoffs.
