In a surprise move, the Raiders have made Austin Howard a healthy scratch for their game against the Colts today. That means Menelik Watson will get the start at right tackle for the first time this season.
Howard had a rough game last week, opening the door for Watson who had the starting job this offseason prior to suffering an injury. Even still, Howard being inactive entirely is surprising. It means they are comfortable without him as the primary backup.
Mario Edwards Jr is active for the game after being activated from injured reserve yesterday.
