Monday Night Football Game Time Open Thread: Cowboys vs. Lions

Watch the final game of Week 16 along with us!

Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports

Greetings, Raider fans! I hope you all made it through the Christmas holiday intact. There is one more Week 16 game on the docket, and it sees the Detroit Lions face off with the NFC-leading Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys have already secured home-field advantage throughout the playoffs by virtue of the Eagles' win over the Giants, so the Cowboys have nothing whatsoever to play for except not getting their star players hurt. I doubt they will be very creative this evening. But then, nobody watches Cowboys games to see innovative offense. They watch for the cheerleaders.

The Lions, on the other hand, have plenty to play for. They have Green Bay in Week 17 and if they lose out, they could find themselves out of the playoffs after having been a high projected seed for much of the season. They had a really tough schedule at the end of the year, so it's lucky for them that the Cowboys probably won't be trying too hard. Still, few things in football are more exciting than Matt Stafford in full desperation mode.

Tonight's game will begin at 5:20 PM Pacific and can be streamed at WatchESPN.
