NFL week 14 game picks, predictions, week 13 results

Here we are. Week 14, which is led out by the big showdown in Kansas City between the 10-2 Raiders and 9-3 Chiefs. What a game it will be. And what a tough game to predict. Enough so that when asked for a prediction this week by the folks over at Arrowhead Pride, I didn't have one for them. But in game predictions, I must make a pick, so I did.

I went with the Raiders.

Several on the staff went with the Raiders as well. I can't speak for them, but for myself, I am far from solid on that pick. So many factors even out between these two teams. In the end, much like a tiebreaker for the playoffs or a draft pick, I had to go way down the list until I got to the one thing that tipped the scale -- my gut.

That's it, just my gut. I have no other rational, logical, or statistical reasoning for my pick.

My gut tells me the Raiders won't get swept again by the Chiefs. It tells me their offense will show up where it didn't in their last meeting and overcome the Chiefs' opportunistic defense. And for those who would accuse me of being a homer, I remind you I correctly picked the Raiders to lose to the Chiefs last time.

Oh, by the way, there are other games being played this week too. In case anyone cares.

This week there are several unanimous picks. They are the Steelers, Colts, Washington, Vikings, Bengals, Lions, Buccaneers, Falcons, and Cowboys.
