Raiders add Sean Smith to free agent haul

Adding to an impressive free agent haul for the Raiders is former Chiefs cornerback Sean Smith

The report everyone had been waiting to hear has finally come out. The Raiders have reeled in free agent cornerback Sean Smith from the Chiefs.

Smith was seen as one of the top cornerbacks on the market along with Janoris Jenkins who signed with the Giants. The Raiders were also said to be interested in Jenkins, but Smith is hardly a consolation prize.

He is a big (6-2, 215) physical corner who has been a full time starter for seven seasons with the Chiefs and Dolphins. He will line up opposite David Amerson to give the Raiders a nice starting cornerback duo. He is also just 28-years-old.

Helping him is the addition of Bruce Irvin who has confirmed his arrival with the Raiders.

They join the biggest free agent signing of all after the Raiders landed free agent offensive linemen Kelechi Osemele.

More moves are expected, but getting three starting players in the first wave of free agency is a nice haul already for the Raiders.
