The "Where in the World is Weddle headed from San Diego" saga is now over. He is headed to Baltimore to join the Ravens. He chose the Ravens over at least three other potential landing spots, Oakland being one of them. Several Raiders players were pushing hard to get him in Oakland. Weddle took the weekend and made his choice.

The 31-year-old former all Pro safety said this offseason that he thinks he had 3-5 years left in him. His deal with the Ravens splits the difference as he signs for a reported 4-year, $26 million deal. That's an average of $6.5 million per season which is a pretty decent deal.
He leaves the Raiders still seeking safety help. They re-signed Nate Allen to a one-year deal after releasing him following an injury plagued 2015 campaign. But Charles Woodson retired, leaving a big hole to fill. One the Raiders were hoping Weddle could fill. Now they must look at other safeties on the market or look ahead to the draft.
