Raiders finalizing deal to re-sign left tackle Donald Penn per report

After a more than two months of uncertainty and a more than a week into free agency, the Raiders and Donald Penn appear to be close to a deal to bring back the 33-year-old left tackle as of late Tuesday night according to Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle.

All signs would point to that deal being imminent as well.

Fellow Raiders lineman Menelik Watson hinted on Twitter that he heard "great news from big homie" -- a tweet he later deleted.

Penn's wife posted a short video on her instagram account saying "Celebrating success" with the hashtags #StayingHome and #JustWinBaby.

That seems pretty definitive, from what I can gather.

It was shortly after reports had Penn set to make his first free agent visit with the Giants in New York that additional reports said his visited wasn't going to take place until later this week. It's possible that visit was pushed back as there was a chance he and the Raiders could come to terms on a deal to return to the team.

Penn's return would complete the Raiders line, with nearly signed Kelechi Osemele landing at right guard.
