Raiders Free Agency 2016 Preview: Wish list big board

It's almost here. Free Agency. Just one business day remains before the free-for-all begins where teams can begin negotiating with free agents ahead of the March 9 deadline. And as we discovered in previous years, by the time the deals are announced, most have long since been reported.

Over the past few weeks, I have been putting together Raiders Free Agent wish lists at each position of need for the Raiders. Those wish lists have been at cornerback, safety, linebacker, offensive tackle, offensive guard, running back, and defensive end.

The secondary is first and foremost as Jack Del Rio has made it very clear the Raiders will be aggressive to add talent there, both in free agency and the draft.

At linebacker, it's filling the middle linebacker spot that is most crucial. There are a few good options on the market to do that. Then it's all about finding a couple players for the offensive line. Most importantly left tackle and right guard. Then adding another pass rusher at the defensive end spot and a complementary back to go with Latavius Murray. If the Raiders can fill all or even most of these positions next week, they will have had themselves a fine free agency.

Here are all the wish list players in order big board style to get us all ready for free agency.

1. Danny Trevathan, ILB, Broncos
2. Sean Smith, CB, Chiefs
3. Kelechi Osemele, T/G, Ravens
4. Malik Jackson, DE, Broncos
5. Eric Weddle, S, Chargers
6. Jeff Allen, G, Chiefs
7. Doug Martin, RB, Buccaneers
8. Jerrell Freeman, ILB, Colts
9. Olivier Vernon, DE, Dolphins
10. Janoris Jenkins, CB, Rams
11. Tashaun Gipson, S, Browns
12. Chris Ivory, RB, Jets
13. Russell Okung, OT, Seahawks

14. Derrick Johnson, ILB, Chiefs
15. George Iloka, S, Bengals
16. Ramon Foster, G, Steelers
17. Casey Hayward, CB, Packers
18. Rodney McLeod, S, Rams
19. Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, Giants
20. Prince Amukamara, CB, Giants
21. Chris Long, DE, Rams
22. Mario Williams, DE, Bills
23. Donald Penn, OT, Raiders
24. Jeremy Lane, CB, Seahawks
25. Patrick Robinson, CB, Chargers
26. Brandon Boykin, CB, Steelers
27. Alex Boone, G, 49ers
28. Nolan Carroll, CB, Eagles
29. Bilal Powell, RB, Jets
30. Jahri Evans, G, Saints

The order is a combination of projected Raiders interest and the talent of the player. Some of the players have been cut by their former team so they won't have to wait until free agency opens to sign with a team. And it's 'Reggie Friday', so who knows what could happen.

As with any free agent situation, there are the ideal targets, and the players who are actually interested. There are two sides to these negotiations, after all. And though the Raiders have a great deal of money to spend, several other teams have a lot of money as well.

For that reason, it's like a draft board. You start at the top and when a player gets plucked by another team, you move on to the next.
