Good morning, Raider Nation! The Raiders got their speedy edge rusher in Bruce Irvin, but he wasn't cheap according to this tweet from USA Today reporter Tom Pelissero.
Bruce Irvin's deal with #Raiders is 4 years, $37 million, including $12.5M in the first year.

Simple math tells us that this leaves $24.5M over the remaining three years of the deal, which means that Irvin will cost a little over $8M per season for 2017-2019. That's not a terrible cap number for a premier outside linebacker/defensive end, and leaves plenty of moolah on the board to extend our own draft picks and still pick up more players.
Irvin isn't cheap, but he shouldn't be. He's a playmaker and provides the Raiders with another frightening threat on defense. With the news that Janoris Jenkins will be signing with the New York Football Giants, the Raiders now set their sights on other defensive backs including Sean Smith.
As those players come off the board, stay tuned to Silver and Black Pride for the finest coverage of all Raiders news and rumors!
