Former Raiders linebacker Lorenzo Alexander signs with Bills

After one season as a special teams maven and reserve linebacker, Lorenzo Alexander has joined the the Buffalo Bills as a free agent. The Bills made the deal official Tuesday.

A Berkeley native and former All Pac-10 performer out of Cal, Alexander was signed by the Raiders just prior to last season after having been released by the Arizona Cardinals where he had played for the previous two seasons. He spent his first seven seasons in Washington and in 2012 was named to the Pro Bowl as a special teamer with 21 special teams tackles.

The 31-year-old appeared in all 16 games last season and was second on the Raiders with 7 special teams tackles (6 solo) last season. He dded 6 combined tackles on defense (5 solo). His role on the team was essentially replaced with the addition of Daren Bates who had 7 combined special teams for the Rams last season (5 solo).
