While fans await to see if the Raiders will be signing safety Reggie Nelson, the team has signed first year long snapper Andrew East.
The 6-2, 220-pounder signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent last offseason, but was waived with the final roster cuts. Last February he signed a reserve/future deal with Seattle Seahawks, spending just over a month with the team before being waived in March.
East snapped in all 51 games of his collegiate career at Vanderbilt and recorded 13 special teams tackles. As a senior, he was named a finalist for the Wuerffel Trophy, which honors a superior combination of athletics, academics and commercial service.
East's addition could mean Jon Condo is not yet ready to resume work. Condo was was lost late last season with a shoulder injury that required surgery and was placed on injured reserve for the final three games of the season.
The Raiders will begin offseason workouts on April 18.
