Some time within the past few weeks, Raiders second year tight end Clive Walford was injured in an ATV accident that is expected to have him miss the team's entire offseason program and has his availability for training camp in doubt, according to a report by Fox Sports.
The injury required surgery and initially was thought to be pretty serious, but according to sources in the report, the injury "may not be as bad as originally thought", adding that Walford's recovery is ahead of schedule.
That schedule has him out the entire offseason program which goes into June, and perhaps not being ready to go by the start of camp at the end of July.
ESPN's Adam Caplan gave some further details shortly after the report surfaced.
Adding to the Clive Walford story (1st reported by FoxSports): Suffered the injury while ago. Described as a "big gash" on one of his knees.

This is Walford's second offseason with the Raiders, and it could be his second time beginning camp on the sideline. After becoming the team's third round pick last year out of Miami, he injured his hamstring in the team's rookie pre-camp warm-up, causing him to miss most of camp, which led to a slow start to the season.
