It was not long after Charles Woodson left the NFL as a player that he officially joined ESPN as an analyst. He was a hot commodity as a future Hall of Famer and charismatic personality, so of course 'The Worldwide Leader' reeled him in. But with his arrival, the desk got a little crowded, which meant some departures were forthcoming. We now know who those departures will be.
Woodson will be joining ESPN's NFL Countdown team along with fellow 1998 draftee and recently retired Matt Hasselbeck. They will sit alongside Chris Berman and Tom Jackson while Mike Ditka and Cris Carter will be out according to The Big Lead. Ditka will remain with the network while Carter is now unemployed.
Also leaving ESPN will be Trent Dilfer and Ray Lewis. While Randy Moss will be coming over from FOX Sports.
I'm not sure how much of an upgrade Randy Moss is, but Woodson and Hasselbeck are certainly upgrades over Ray Lewis and Cris Carter.
