Today the Colts locked in their franchise quarterback Andrew Luck on an extension through 2021. That deal comes with $75 million in guarantees over the first three seasons and makes him the NFL’s highest paid player.

Luck was coming into the fifth and final year of his rookie contract since being chosen by the Colts with the number one overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

With Luck as the starter, the Colts have reached the playoffs three times in four years, including two division titles and a trip to the AFC Championship Game.

Update: And here are the final numbers. Good lord.
