The fans voted last week for which classic games they would like to have the NFL upload to YouTube, and the results are in. The three classic Raiders games made available on YouTube in their entirety will be:
Super Bowl XVIII -- Raiders vs Washington (30% of the vote)
The Raiders were a wildcard team and were heavy underdogs. Then thanks in part to Marcus Allen who ran for 191 yards including arguably the most miraculous run in Super Bowl history, they came away with a decisive 38-8 victory.
2002 AFC Championship Game -- Raiders vs Titans (27% of the vote)
This was the Championship game win that sent the Raiders back to the Super Bowl (41-24) for the first time since their victory following the 1983 season. MVP Rich Gannon with his two Hall of Fame wide receivers Tim Brown and Jerry Rice helped the Raiders lift the AFC Championship Trophy.
Super Bowl XI -- Raiders vs Vikings (21% of the vote)
It was the Raiders’ first Super Bowl win and it came in dominating fashion. The Raiders’ smothering defense dismantled Fran Tarkenton, forcing two interceptions, including the iconic 75-yard pick six by “Old man Willie” Brown. Meanwhile Raiders running back tandem of Clarence Davis and Mark Van Eeghen ran for 210 yards. The Raiders pulled away for a dominating 32-14 victory to hoist the first of the franchise’s three Lombardi Trophies.
These games will be uploaded to YouTube this August.
