Raiders 7th round OL Vadal Alexander on NFI, two others on PUP to begin camp

New, comments

Two Raiders rookies and a veteran will be sidelined to begin camp.

As Raiders rookies and select players continue their pre-camp warm-up, there are two rookies who aren’t among them. One of them is seventh round pick offensive lineman Vadal Alexander.

Alexander was the team’s final pick in April’s draft out of LSU. He will compete for a reserve spot at both guard and tackle. That competition will get off to a late start in training camp as he recovers from an undisclosed injury.

Another rookie who will be unavailable is undrafted defensive end Greg Townsend Jr. He will start camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Joining Townsend on the PUP is Roy Helu Jr who was absent throughout offseason practices as he recovers from surgery on both hips.

Players who were sidelined during the offseason who look to be ready to go include tight end Clive Walford (knee), safety Karl Joseph (knee), safety Reggie Nelson, linebacker Neiron Ball, and cornerback Neiko Thorpe.
