Jalen Richard among those who won't dress for Raiders, Karl Joseph could play

New, comments

The Raiders announced three players who won't dress for the game tonight in Arizona and Karl Joseph was not one of them.

With it being the preseason, the Raiders aren't obligated to announce any inactives, but they opted to name three players who will not dress for tonight's game. Those players are running back Jalen Richard, cornerback Antonio Hamilton, and safety Jimmy Hall. All three of whom were not at practice on Wednesday. Making Denico Autry the only player who missed Wednesday's practice who is not among those who will not dress.

The player who was most anticipated was Richard, who had looked very good for the team in camp. The 5-8, 207-pounder has been basically spitting image of fifth round pick DeAndre Washington in stature and style of play. Both have that stocky build and scat back style Jack Del Rio covets while also showing dependable hands as receiving targets.

Karl Joseph had said he was unsure whether he would be playing in the preseason opener. The team has been bringing him back slowly from the ACL injury he suffered last season at West Virginia ten months ago. It's encouraging that he wasn't listed among those who won't dress, but it doesn't necessarily mean he will see the field. We will have to wait until game time to know for sure.
