From the sounds of it, Raiders fans may be able to exhale a bit with regard to the injury to Mario Edwards Jr that had him carted off the field tonight. Shortly after the game was completed, Raiders officials informed some in the media that Edwards had suffered a hip injury and according to Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle, the injury is not considered serious.

That being said, "not serious" is a bit of a loose term. It could mean he is back before the regular season or it could simply mean he won't require surgery that would shut him down long term. Edwards leaving on crutches doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence, however.
