The news from Saturday's training camp practice was the couple of fights between Kelechi Osemele and Mario Edwards Jr that had them kicked out of practice. In addition to that, Edwards had ice on his right hand from punching Osemele's helmet.
Head coach Jack Del Rio spoke on the incident after Sunday's camp practice.
"Yesterday a couple guys got ejected from practice"," Del said of the Osemele Edwards. "I just didn't think they were preparing to do the things that we needed to do to help our team continue to work. They were both talked to and understand that's not how we do things, not what we're looking for. We basically handled that and put it to rest."
The concern now is whether Edwards's hand was going to be ok. He didn't practice full today, working mostly on the side with a trainer. His hand was taped.
"Both are going to be fine.," Del Rio added. "I think Mario's still a little sore but he'll be fine. Nothing major going on there, so that's good. You can have unfortunate things happen when different guys go at it like that, so we're just grateful that nothing significant came of it. And we learned a big time lesson on how important it is to take care of each other and be good teammates. Still challenge each other but be respectful."
