Greetings, Raider fans! The Great Raiderdamus welcomes you to the fourth and final preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, a team the Raiders seemingly play each preseason. Derek Carr will be watching this game from a secret underground bunker secure in his bubble-wrap overcoat, seeking to avoid the horrible fate of Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater whose knee went Full Greg Oden just two days ago.
Tonight we will have our first extended look at Connor Cook after Matt McGloin has his turn, and proves himself to still be Matt McGloin. But let me take you back in time to...
August 28, 2014. Raiders rookie QB Derek Carr had the unenviable task of facing the formidable Seattle Seahawks in his very first preseason game as a professional. This was a Seahawks team whose previous game was the utter destruction of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 48. Derek Carr shredded the Seahawks to the tune of 143 yards and three touchdowns in limited snaps. He won the starting job based partially on that game and partially upon Matt Schaub being the Matt Schaubbiest Matt Schaub who ever Matt Schaubed.
Tonight, Connor Cook will get his shot to have success against the Seahawks as well and show that Reggie McKenzie's most puzzling selection of the 2016 Draft was, in fact, a stroke of genius.
