Raiders vs. Falcons Week 2 Game Time Open Thread

New, comments

The Raiders play their first game at home against the Atlanta Falcons today.

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Greetings, Raider fans! Today is the Raiders' home opener against the Atlanta Falcons, led by QB Matt Ryan and dynamic WR Julio Jones. The Raiders will look to build on their strong offensive performance in New Orleans last week and shore up their defense which was extremely porous against the Saints.

This is a game the Raiders should win if they are to be taken seriously as playoff contenders. The Falcons' defense isn't very good and they don't generate much pass rush. It will be up to Oakland's defense to contain DeVonte Freeman, Tevin Coleman, and Julio Jones. Mohammed Sanu is also a key weapon for Atlanta.
