Karl Joseph named to PFWA All Rookie Team

New, comments

After releasing their All NFL and All Conference teams Monday, the Pro Football Writers Association has put out their All Rookie Team. One Raiders rookie made the team — 14 overall pick safety Karl Joseph.

Here’s the full squad:

Only one other Raiders player may have had a shot at making this team. Jalen Richard was a candidate as a return man, but Chiefs rookie Tyreek Hill swept both return spots as well as special teams player.

Joseph, didn’t start the season as the team worked him back slowly since he had missed a lot of time with an ACL injury he suffered his senior season as West Virginia. By a month in, he was starting and was playing well right up until he suffered a toe injury in week 13 that had him out the final month of the season. He would return for the team’s Wild Card playoff loss to the Texans.

He finished the season with 60 combined tackles (44 solo) in 9 starts with one interception and six passes defended.
