NFL Pro Bowl roster 2017: Amari Cooper latest Raiders Pro Bowler to bow out of All Star game, replaced by Broncos Emmanuel Sanders

New, comments

And then there were three. That is there are just three remaining Raiders Pro Bowl players left who have not opted out of the NFL’s All Star game which will be held in Orlando Florida this year. The latest to drop out due to injury is Amari Cooper who was a regular on the Raiders’ injury report late in the season with a shoulder issue.

Replacing Cooper will be Broncos wide receiver, Emmanuel Sanders, bringing the Broncos Pro Bowler total up to five.

We knew Donald Penn would not be able to play in the game due to his knee injury, and we now know it will be Bengal’s tackle Andrew Whitworth who will replace him.

The other Raiders to opt out of the Pro Bowl so far are Derek Carr and Khalil Mack. It leaves just Kelechi Osemele, Rodney Hudson, and Reggie Nelson as the remaining Pro Bowlers representing the Silver & Black.

As of yet, despite all the players opting out, none of the Raiders’ seven Pro Bowl alternates have gotten the call. The alternates are WR Michael Crabtree, G Gabe Jackson, K Sebastian Janikowski, P Marquette King, RB Latavius Murray, FB/RB Jamize Olawale and KR/PR Jalen Richard.

King has already been passed up in favor of Dustin Colquitt to replace Colts Pat McAfee.

We await which teams will make the Super Bowl to find out which Pro Bowlers will head to Houston instead of Orlando.
