Raiders work out seven, sign two

New, comments

On the day following the final game of the regular season finale, the Raiders were doing business.

Even though the Raiders are not done playing, the regular season is over, which means players can officially be added to reserve/future deals. So, the Raiders spent Monday doing a little planning for 2017.

They worked out seven players. Those players, according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan were RB LaMichael James, DE Alex Bazzie, LB Andy Mulumba, LB Dwayne Norman, LB Brandon Hepburn, S Dion Bailey, and CB Greg Ducre.

Of those players, the Raiders added a couple linebackers in Andy Mulumba and Dwayne Norman.

Here is some info on Mulumba and Norman:

Mulumba originally signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2013. The 6-2, 260-pound linebacker appeared in 22 career games with three starts for the Packers from 2013-15, totaling 25 tackles (12 solo), one sack and one fumble recovery. He also added 10 tackles on special teams…Played in 48 games with 31 starts over four seasons at Eastern Michigan, recording 143 tackles (46 solo) and 4.5 sacks.

Norman originally signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in May of 2016 but didn’t make the regular season roster. At Duke, the 6-0, 230-pounder played in 49 games with 25 starts over four seasons, totaling 250 tackles, four sacks, one interception, eight passes defensed, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Neither player will be available for the Raiders in the playoffs. If still on the roster, they would join the team for OTA’s and minicamps.
