David Amerson leaves Raiders game in Denver with concussion, doesn’t return

The Raiders were already shorthanded in the secondary with rookie cornerback Gareon Conley inactive with a shin injury. On the Broncos second series of the game, Amerson made the tackle on a 29-yard reception to AJ Derby. He immediately left the field and was taken to the field to be evaluated for a concussion.

The Broncos took the ball at the 22-yard-line and scored the touchdown on another pass to Derby.

Concussions are becoming a concern for Amerson. He suffered a concussion in the team’s third preseason game and was cleared in time for the season opener. He also suffered a concussion early last season in their loss to the Falcons in week two.

Replacing Amerson as the left outside corner is Dexter McDonald with Sean Smith on the other side and TJ Carrie in the slot.

Update: David Amerson has a concussion and will not return.
