We knew the match-up between former teammates Khalil Mack and Menelik Watson was going to be a big one. Come the third quarter, Mack would get through for the sack. Specifically, he got went right through Watson on the bull rush.

It’s sack number 3.0 for Mack and the 7th sack Watson has surrendered this season. Mario Edwards Jr and Bruce Irvin also got sacks on Siemian in this game. Though they beat other players to get them.
But before you think it’s just Watson, he left the game hurt a bit later and on the first play Donald Stephenson replaced him, Mack destroyed him for another sack. He stripped the ball, but Trevor Siemian’s knee was down and the Broncos kept the ball.
The Broncos had already driven into field goal range after a big punt return and would add another field goal to go up 16-7.
Watson would return on the next play. Game on.
