The Raiders have made a move to try add depth to their banged up cornerback unit. They have signed former Jaguars cornerback Demetrius McCray, according to McCray’s agent, Element Sports Group.
The fourth year corner is a former 7th round pick out of Appalachian State. He appeared in 46 games for the Jaguars from 2013-15, starting 16. He has 6 career passes defended and no interceptions.
McCray was among several cornerbacks the Raiders worked out last week, raising further concerns about the health of rookie top pick Gareon Conley who continues to suffer from a shin injury he suffered back in June minicamp.
Last Sunday the Raiders were without Conley and starting corner David Amerson (concussion) and lost Antonio Hamilton on the opening kickoff. That left them with just three active corners.
