For the first time in about a month, the Raiders are leading at the half and have put together a pretty good effort. The defensive effort has been above par, with the Chargers’ only score coming on a fourth-down plunge from Melvin Gordon. The Raiders’ defense has, for the most part, shut down Los Angeles’ offense.
The Raiders score a touchdown on a Derek Carr pass to Michael Crabtree and then a Giorgio Tavecchio field goal with no time remaining in the half to take a 10-7 lead into the locker room. The refs have been brutal, robbing the Raiders of a number of big plays on phantom calls, but this is not news.
We’ll see how the Raiders try to maintain their lead and defeat both the Chargers and the referees in the second half.
