I think most people thought this game would be the meeting of two teams once again battling for the top spot in the division. That’s not quite how it’s panned out.

The Chiefs have a pretty firm grasp on the top of the AFC West, but the Raiders are trying to win a game. Any game. Against anyone. Last week against the Chargers seemed like their best chance and they couldn’t get it done. Now they face arguably the best team in football.

It’s a Thursday night game and the Chiefs are are traveling west. That aspect might actually favor the Raiders. Though that could be a stretch. Last season they headed to Kansas City for Thursday night and it was the worst game of Derek Carr’s career (at that time).

That Raiders have lost 5-straight to the Chiefs. The last time the Raiders beat the Chiefs was the first win of Carr’s career in Oakland in 2014. It snapped a Raiders 16-game losing streak dating back to the previous season. Their currently on a 4-game losing streak this season, so... I don’t know what that means exactly.
