Raiders-Bills inactives: Both teams missing half their starting secondaries

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

With Karl Joseph doubtful for the game, that pretty sure bet he wouldn’t play. He is inactive for the Raiders game in Buffalo today, as is starting cornerback David Amerson.

But both teams are missing key starters. The Bills even more so. They’re without cornerback EJ Gaines, safety Jordan Poyer, linebacker Ramon Humber, and tight end Charles Clay to name a few.

Raiders

CB David Amerson

CB Gareon Conley

QB Connor Cook

S Karl Joseph

LB Marquel Lee

OT David Sharpe

OT Jylan Ware

Replacing Amerson in the lineup will be the combination of Sean Smith and Dexter McDonald. Replacing Joseph will be rookie Shalom Luani.

The good news is linebacker Cory James, right tackle Marshall Newhouse, linebacker Nicholas Morrow and punter Marquette King will all play today. There were all questionable on the injury report.

Bills

T Conor McDermott

TE Charles Clay

LB Ramon Humber

T Seantrel Henderson

G John Miller

CB E.J. Gaines

S Jordan Poyer

Replacing Clay at tight end will be Nick O’Leary. Matt Milano will start at linebacker with Humber out. Trae Elston will replace Poyer at safety, Shareece Wright at cornerback in place of Gaines, and Vladimir Ducasse will once again start at right guard with Miller out.
