Raiders punter Marquette King fined for unsportsmanlike conduct and he wants to leave the planet

NFL fines were revealed today with Raiders punter Marquette King getting slapped with a fine of $9,115 for his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against the Broncos last week.

The flag was thrown after King was tackled for a loss on a run from a fake punt formation. After which he threw the ball at the back of the tackler.

King has developed a bit of a reputation for being a hothead on the field. It’s not usually something teams will put up with from their punter.

He gets away with it mainly because he is on pace to make NFL history.

If you need proof, just not the stat Josh Dubow of the AP put up the other day on King. noting that he has been flagged 4 times for unsportsmanlike conduct the past two seasons while the rest of the punters in the league are tied with zero.

Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio is not pleased with it and said he would be giving King a talking to about maturity.

King is a strange duck by most accounts. Earlier today, presumably after he had been notified of his fine, he said he wanted to leave planet Earth, tagging SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk.

I have long figured King was not really on the same planet as the rest of us anyway. Or at least not in the same dimension. But maybe he should think about sticking around at least until he’s finished his promising NFL career.
